A WARM WELCOME FROM THE HEART OF THE VILLAGE

Cousins, Pasquale & Pasquale Benedetto took over The Plough in 2015, and after a substantial refurbishment are proud to welcome you to their award-winning pub.

The Plough Coton is a Cambridge gastropub serving fresh locally sourced produce amongst a relaxed village atmosphere, with a contemporary and comfortable interior, and friendly staff.

Perfect for both summer and winter the Plough has a cosy crackling fire for those chilly winter nights, and a large garden to enjoy those long summer evenings.

We are open 6 days a week for lunch through to dinner to enjoy a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The Plough is a real destination pub for walkers and cyclists, families, businesses and locals alike.

The Plough Coton is proud to be part of the family-owned Benedetto Restaurant group, leading the Cambridge dining experience and serving up award-winning food since 1972.

” Welcome to The Plough Coton; I’ve always been passionate about creating an environment that’s an extension of welcoming people into my own home. As an Italian family, it’s important to me that people feel welcomed and relaxed when visiting The Plough, whether it be for a quick drink or a special occasion.

The Plough was the first restaurant as part of the Benedetto group to bridge out from the city centre and bring a more relaxed dining experience. I wanted to create a gastropub, as the word signifies a place with a superior level of service, high-quality food, and always being welcomed by faces you recognise. That’s what we always aim to achieve and exceed thanks to our brilliant team and great location.”

” I’ve been a chef for the last ten years and enjoy taking my inspiration for new dishes from seasonal produce I find at local farmers markets; I’ve also recently brought a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes to the specials menu, experimenting with flavours and colours. I can’t pick a single favourite dish on the new Autumn menu, but my top two have to be the Duck Breast and the Tomato Terrine. The Tomato Terrine is not only a great selection of flavours for our vegetarian diners, but it’s also a vibrant, colourful dish to brighten up those winter days. The Duck is a wholesome dish with lots of great seasonal ingredients and flavours.”

” I’ve been part of The Plough family for over 3 years. I enjoy chatting with customers and making them feel warm and welcome. The food here is fantastic, and I’m really proud to be able to serve up dishes that look and taste brilliant.

Away from the Plough I’m a mum of one who enjoys running and walking around the Cambridge countryside and drinking great red wine – my favourite Plough red is the Wente Merlot. I’m also a keen photographer, and you can usually find me snapping away pictures of our latest specials for our Instagram account.”

I have recently joined The Plough this year. With 10+ years in the hospitality industry, I bring a wealth of knowledge and service to this already successful gastropub.

The food and wine selection are top of the line and we have so much passion for what we serve. I have recently introduced a cocktail menu to add to our already strong drinks list.

Away from The Plough I enjoy hiking, climbing and playing rugby for a local team in Cambridgeshire. My true passion would be the beer of the world, loving to sample and taste all types and bring them here to add to our already superb selection.
